Desireé Frazier, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist. She received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at The Children’s Assessment Center (CAC) in Houston and her postdoctoral fellowship at the Moore Counseling Center in Oklahoma. After working in Houston for two years, she has relocated to the Dallas area to be closer to family. Dr. Frazier opened her private practice at the Coppell Counseling Center since October 2014. She is currently in the process of relocating her practice to the Flower Mound area to continue building her practice and offering more opportunities for clinicians and clients. During her graduate clinical training experiences, Dr. Frazier has developed a specialization in working with traumatized children and adolescents, including childhood abuse, witnessing domestic violence, death of a family member, and school violence. Dr. Frazier has presented on topics, such as promoting sex education in families and parental alienation syndrome. She also has clinical experience with a broad range of childhood disorders and problems, including depression, separation anxiety, attachment disorders, ADHD, oppositional defiant behaviors, conduct disorder, trichotillomania, enuresis, and encopresis. During her private practice career, Dr. Frazier has focused on building healthy family relationships and applying Dialectical Behavior Therapy through individual, family, and group modalities. Dr. Frazier is part of a DBT consultation team which meets weekly in order to staff complex cases and offer the best treatment possible. Dr. Frazier primarily works with children and adolescents and their families. She believes that positive interaction styles and effective communication increases emotional functioning and decreases behavioral problems in children and their families. Dr. Frazier offers a direct and structured approach to meeting treatment goals and improving relationships.
