With over 15 years' experience in the fields of education and mental health, I am licensed to provide clinical professional counseling and certified to work as a school crisis counselor in Maryland. While it is important to provide children, and adults, the physical tools to thrive, it is equally if not more important to provide the social and emotional tools, and I have made it my life's work to provide this. Due to the unwavering interest I have in the betterment of ourselves, I specialize in working with young children to young adults. I also work with assisting families to navigate the unique dynamics of their family unit, as well as couples and individual counseling. Completing my undergraduate degree of psychology in 2002, I subsequently earned my Master's in Counseling Education from Bowie State University in Maryland and have put both to great use working in the local school system and other mental health treatment settings over the past 15 years. In appreciating the individuality of each person, I maintain a nonjudgmental Person-Centered theoretical orientation and utilize an eclectic, Cognitive Behavioral Therapeutic (CBT) dominant technical approach. I am guided by the notion that it is our differences that make us great, and work with individuals to help them value and embrace their differences.
