One of God’s most astounding promises to us is that He intends to bring good news to the afflicted and poor, to bind up the broken places within our hearts, to bring us into true freedom, to provide for those of us who grieve, and to give back to us the pleasure in living that we have lost. (See Isaiah 61). We are invited into the process of God bringing this grace into our stories, our struggles, our confusion and our pain.
