At times, we might feel lost or hopeless, uncertain of how to navigate life’s twisty and turvy terrain. Sometimes, we find ourselves needing help returning to our path; alternatively, we might be struggling to determine how to carve out our new path. Experiences of change, loss, trauma, not knowing sense of self, relationship difficulties, or mental health symptoms can be the catalyst for seeking help. Dr. Elizabeth Muino is a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Colorado. She is also an authorized PSYPACT provider and can therefore provide telehealth services if you are in a PSYPACT participating state. She earned her Master’s Degree, in Counseling, from the University of Colorado in 2008. She completed her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at the University of Denver, in 2013. She has worked in inpatient and outpatient settings, University environments, and had the honor serving our Nation’s Veterans at the Veterans Health Administration. Dr. Muino had the privilege of returning to the University of Denver as an Assistant Clinical Professor and as a Supervisor in Morgridge College of Education. She is thrilled to be returning to private practice and looks forward to speaking with you about how she can help you achieve your goals. She brings empathic warmth and supportive curiosity to endeavor to understand your experience. Dr. Muino believes in helping you gain skills/strategies to assist with more immediate issues and increased self-understanding to help you garner greater long-term change. What you can expect during therapy • Dr. Muino will assist you in assessing your readiness for change. She will then tailor therapy to accommodate that readiness, meeting you where you are in the that journey. • Dr. Muino believes in using a bi-pronged approach to therapy. She will work toward helping you build tools obtained through CBT and/or DBT, which can aid in more readily experienced symptom relief. She brings a more Psychodynamic Relational and Constructivist approach to helping you achieve a deeper understanding of self and self in relation to others. Acquisition of tools can often help people feel better more quickly. While an enriched self-awareness can bring about positive long-term change, increased self-esteem, and result in improved interpersonal functioning.
