Introduction

I began my journey in the counseling, psychotherapy, and coaching profession in 1981. Initially, worked in Emergency Community Mental Health, and in 1990 open the doors to my private practice, For the next 21 years I provided individual, marital, family, adolescent, and group counseling. Specializing in Mental Health and Wellness and Addiction Recovery. In 2004, I added personal fitness training and life coaching and developed my program "Your Life in Focus" which is about specific modalities and approaches changing behavior and unhelpful thinking habits. In 2011-2019 wanting a direct resource to our nations hero's returning from the war in Iraq, I was hired as a GS employee with the DOD, Department of the Army, and spent the next 8.5 years at Fort Campbell, KY with the 101st Airborne Division, working with active duty soldiers and their families in areas of Substance and Mental Health concerns. I retired from the DOD in August of 2019. I use evidence based treatment modalities such as, CBT, MCBT, DBT, RET, Christian CBT, 12-step recovery approaches, Mindfulness, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, Modified PET.
