"What you seek is seeking you” – Rumi Psychotherapy is a profession whose mainspring is love. Nearly everyone who visits a therapist has a love disorder, and each has a story to tell—of love lost or denied, love twisted or betrayed, love perverted or shackled to violence. Ackerman, 2011, p. 136 Knowing yourself is challenging, especially in a world where distractions demand so much of your time. Finding the time to focus inward feels almost impossible amid the demands of modern life: long working shifts, family, school, social media, parenting, games, and so on. The seeker in you may be dormant for years to come, avoiding waking up from this dream we call life. Yet, the seeker is always there. The Swiss psychologist and founder of analytical psychology, Carl Gustav Jung, believed that we will have a clear vision of who we are only by investing our energy in our inner life. He said: "Who looks outside, dreams, who looks inside, awakes." – Therapy is about awakening and self-awareness, and my work as a therapist is to facilitate that. My therapeutic approach is based on psychodynamics; it is person-centered and emotionally focused and includes mindfulness practices, cognitive behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing. I am a licensed mental health counselor and have a Ph.D. in psychology. This combination allows me to work on more profound levels of the psyche. My therapeutic interventions consider not only conscious attitudes but also unconscious factors that influence your decisions, though you are unaware of them. It is an in-depth psychological approach. Are you ready? When you feel prepared to start your individuation process and therapy journey, schedule your first appointment with one of our therapists. We also offer an initial 15-minute free online consultation.
