I worked over the next decade, primarily in the outpatient community sector, with opportunities to advocate for full-time counselors in Chicago Public School system, to participate in Kane County's Treatment Alternative Court and re-integration programs for individuals suffering from chronic mental health conditions charged with felonies, and to develop myriad Trauma-focused treatment groups for individuals from varied experiences. * But this was not enough, as I found that many of the clients, I worked with suffered from physical health complications and co-morbid conditions as well. So, I left my position as Clinical Director of a local community outpatient mental health facility to go back to school to earn my Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (ND) from National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, IL.
