Hi! My name is Dr. Jen Stewart and I am a licensed psychologist. I approach psychotherapy with the belief that increased insight, effective coping skills, and a strong therapeutic relationship are cornerstones to facilitating positive behavioral change. I utilize an integration of DBT, CBT, and relational therapy in my work. I have ample experience working with patients from a variety of backgrounds, and approach therapy from a multicultural, holistic, intersectional perspective that takes into account each patient's varied identities. I specialize in trauma (specifically sexual trauma and childhood invalidation) and personality disorders. I have several years of experience working with veterans. I received my doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Fordham University, an APA accredited program. Prior to that, I received my MSEd in Mental Health Counseling from Fordham University and my Bachelor's degree in Applied Psychology from Boston College. I completed my pre-doctoral internship training and my postdoctoral fellowship training at VA Puget Sound- American Lake, specializing in PTSD and DBT. During graduate school, I trained in a variety of settings, including a partial hospital program, an inpatient unit, a college counseling center, private practice, and a Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, doing yoga, hiking, and chasing my cat off the counter (spoiler, my cat always wins).
