According to my mother, my first word was "why." Why is the sky blue? Why can't I have a cookie for breakfast? Why are people hurting? This curiosity is integral to my work as a therapist, as I strive to understand my client's worldview and the problems they are facing. Whether you are reliving past trauma, plagued by worrisome thoughts, concerned about your relationship or substance use, or feeling generally dissatisfied in life, I will provide an empathic ear, support, and guidance to help you meet these challenges. Throughout my career, I have worked with clients of diverse backgrounds and a range of mental health concerns. I specialize in the treatment of PTSD/trauma, anxiety, depression, anger management, and emotion regulation issues, though many of my clients also struggle with conditions of living such as chronic stress, pain, medical illness, and relationship difficulties. I also have a special interest and experience working with military and veteran populations. In practice, I draw from a variety of evidence based treatments, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), among other interventions. I also have a background in neuropsychological testing and offer executive functioning coaching for individuals with ADHD and related cognitive concerns. As a psychologist, I strive to empower my clients to make informed decisions about the care they receive and adopt a collaborative and flexible approach to treatment. I also believe aligning and tailoring interventions to my client's needs, preferences, and goals is critical to the success of therapy. I remain committed to providing a safe space for my clients to discuss challenging life experiences, explore opportunities for growth, and acquire skills to weather this thing called life as we navigate therapy. Together, we learn and evolve.
