Lesli received her Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from NCCU, her Master's Degree in Social Work from Simmons University, and her Doctorate of Social Work Degree also from Simmons University. Her research interests include Smart Decarceration, Prison/Jail ReEntry, Substance use, Critical Race Theory, Marginalized and Oppressed populations, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Family Preservation. Lesli has over 15 years of industry experience. Lesli has worked in various capacities in the community, from a non-profit manager of multiple community-based programs, principal investigator on a grant-funded pilot program working with justice involving individuals who struggle with multiple obstacles with the goal of increased quality of life, in case management, an individual therapist and many other positions. Lesli utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, a more valued based theoretical approach closely related to CBT.
