As a Psychologist and Art Therapist with over 14 years of clinical experience, I receive great satisfaction helping children, adolescents, and adults improve mood, relationships, and functioning so that they can experience more fulfilling lives. More specifically, I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Art Therapy, and other evidence-based treatment to address issues including depression, anxiety, adjustment to life stressors, trauma, ADHD, and behavioral/relationship problems. I obtained my Doctorate in Psychology from Adelphi University and Masters in Art Therapy from Pratt Institute. My experience includes research coordination at Depression Evaluation Services at New York-Presbyterian Hospital (the primary teaching hospital for Weill Cornell Medicine at Cornell University and Columbia University), providing inpatient psychiatric treatment at Montefiore Medical Center (the primary teaching hospital for Albert Einstein College of Medicine), presenting at professional conferences, and supervising and training clinicians in afterschool programs and outpatient mental health care. Recently, I completed a research study on the effects of mindfulness app use to promote mindful parenting and decrease parenting stress, two key factors in improving the quality of parent-child relationships. I work primarily with adolescents and children in private and public schools, parents needing support and guidance, and young women exploring next steps in careers and relationships. In psychotherapy, we can work together to strengthen the thoughts and behavior patterns that serve you and root out the ones that don't. If you have further questions, please feel free to text or call at 917-382-1372 for a free 10-minute phone consultation. I'd be happy to talk with you to determine if what I offer would be a good match for you or your child's needs.
