Introduction

Dr. Megan Yetzer is a licensed Counseling Psychologist and a proud Ohio native. Dr. Yetzer has been trained as a generalist, which means she values working with women in different stages of life who may seek therapy for a variety of reasons. Dr. Yetzer is especially passionate about working with women who are entering young adulthood and experiencing life transitions and identity exploration. Dr. Yetzer applies a person-centered and feminist approach. She works with women (18+) to create a safe space for all individuals, strives to be attentive to the impact of contextual and multicultural factors, and focuses on empowering women to make choices that align with the goals they have set for themselves. She views therapy as a tool to enhance a person’s overall wellness and works in collaboration with the strengths each woman already possesses. Additionally, Dr. Yetzer integrates mindfulness, cognitive behavioral techniques (CBT), and dialectical behavior techniques (DBT) into her work. Dr. Yetzer received her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Akron after completing her internship at Southern Illinois University. Dr. Yetzer then spent a year receiving postdoctoral training at the University of Pittsburgh. She devoted a year in Missouri providing psychotherapy to the students of William Woods University, has provided clinical services in community mental health, and served as a staff member at Ohio University Counseling and Psychological services. Dr. Yetzer has extensive outreach experience and is a professional member of the Ohio Psychological Association.
