Introduction

Here at Flourish Behavioral Health, we believe in using a combination of approaches to achieve the best outcome for our clients. Most of our sessions will have a foundation of Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and we will work together to incorporate other techniques such as Solution-Focused Brief therapy, DBT, Psychoeducation, Faith-Based Perspectives and Applied Behavioral Modification and many other applicable approaches as requested and appropriate. After a comprehensive initial biopsychosocial assessment, a treatment plan will be developed with the aim of establishing problematic symptom relief, quality of life improvement/restoration and coping skill generalization. Dr. Slabaugh’s clinical career spans over 35 years starting out in the medical field through nursing and then a transition to the behavioral health field through her work as a services and clinical director treating medically and behaviorally challenged adolescents and individuals across all life experiences with extensive experience with complex and co-occurring conditions Additionally, Dr. Slabaugh has a love for providing consultation and interim leadership support. Over the years she has served in senior level roles with multiple organizations providing clinical operations, strategic planning, innovative healthcare system transformation, project management expertise and has managed departments with annual budgets of up to $12M in revenue responsibility. Dr. Slabaugh enjoys her part-time work as an Adjunct Professor teaching graduate level counseling students at Lipscomb Univeristy in Nashville, Tennessee. Flourish Behavioral Health Services and Specialists began in 2017 as Dr. Slabaugh’s second job in the state of Pennsylvania to support the extra-curricular activities and travel adventures of the family. In 2021 Dr. Slabaugh and her husband Stan moved to Tennessee to enjoy the new season of empty nesting in a warmer climate and took the time to build a new professional network in a new area. The time has arrived to re-launch/re-brand Flourish as Dr. Slabaugh’s greatest passion project bringing together all aspects of her experience and beloved work. Personally Dr. Slabaugh and her husband Stan raised a large blended family of eight now adult children, have grandchildren, a pug named Bogey and Pretzel the cat.
