Dr. Stokes Sanders utilizes an eclectic approach that is tailored to each patient. She practices evidence-based therapeutic interventions that improve an individual's quality of life and promote healing and well being. Dr. Stokes Sanders has extensive training and experience in Attachment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Coping Skills, Trauma/PTSD Therapy, and Supportive Psychotherapy. She has published several peer reviewed articles and co-authored two chapters in a textbook for doctoral level psychology students (Preschool Assessment: Principles and Practices, Guilford Press, 2008). Dr. Stokes Sanders speaks Spanish fluently. Dr. Stokes Sanders was an Adjunct Professor of Psychology at Pace University and a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Pediatrics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Stokes Sanders has presented papers at Cambridge University, UK, University of Texas, Austin and University of Nebraska, Lincoln. Dr. Sanders continually hones her professional skills and has participated in courses at the Anna Freud Centre in London, the Parnell Institute, and other psychological organizations. At this time, Dr. Stokes Sanders is providing teletherapy services only. Daytime and evening appointments are available. In her spare time, Dr. Stokes Sanders enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and dogs. She does pro bono humanitarian work around the world. Most recently, she has travelled to the northern Iraqi province of Kurdistan helping survivors of ISIS torture and captivity.
