Please visit hygieiabh.org to see all clinicians and send a message. Hello! My name is Dr. Sade Thompson, LMFT, and I am the President of Hygieia Behavioral Health Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Hygieia Behavioral Health Foundation aims to minimize the effects of oppression and intergenerational trauma experienced by many members of BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and marginalized communities. We’re committed to helping bridge the gap between culturally sensitive mental health resources and treatments, promoting mental health wellness, and removing the barriers that hinder people from accessing the quality help they require. We also support LGBTQ+ individuals as they explore their identities or other concerns related to mental health while providing a welcoming and supportive environment. When seeking therapy, whether for issues related to one’s romantic, sexual, or gender identity or for mental health concerns, having a competent mental health professional who has knowledge and experience with the difficulties members of the LGBTQ+ community often face can be crucial to successful treatment results. Our vision is to promote overall mental health for all by working proactively to remove the barriers to effective therapy, which often include providing affordable treatment. We offer individual therapy for children, adolescents, and adults, utilizing an integrative approach that combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Solution-Focused, and Client-Centered strategies dependent on the client’s needs. We provide a culturally competent approach as part of the treatment method to help build a strong therapeutic relationship. We believe that psychotherapy should be unique to one’s culture, spiritual beliefs, and values. We meet clients where they are and move at their pace. Our treatment psychotherapy approach is adapted per individual to meet clients’ specific needs. We strive to make quality, evidence-based mental health services available to all members of our community. If you would like a brief consultation, I welcome you to send an email, give me a call, or text. Text/Email for the fastest response time.
