Hello! I’m Dr. Sam, and I have dedicated nearly a decade to the field of mental health. My journey began at Syracuse University, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work with a double minor in Addiction Studies and Psychology. During this time, I worked at Vera House, a domestic violence shelter, gaining valuable experience in crisis intervention and advocacy. After returning to Maine, I pursued a Master’s degree in Social Work at the University of New England, focusing on substance recovery and trauma. While completing my graduate studies, I worked at MaineHealth, facilitating various therapeutic groups for both teens and adults. My passion for understanding human behavior led me to Washington, D.C., where I earned a Ph.D. in Homeopathic Psychology and Human Behavior. Upon returning to Maine, I worked in residential treatment before transitioning to outpatient therapy. I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in Maine and Massachusetts, as well as a certified clinical supervisor and a licensed alcohol and drug counselor. Beyond my professional work, I enjoy movies, board games, cooking, music, and spending time with my family, friends, and pets. I am committed to providing a compassionate and empowering environment for children and teens to explore their mental and emotional well-being. I believe in a holistic approach to self-care, recognizing the deep connection between mind and body. Together, we can develop effective strategies, enhance resilience, and work toward meaningful goals—helping you build the healthy, fulfilling life you deserve.
