“Why am I having these thoughts?…This does not feel right?… I’m scared…I have to do these compulsions to feel better …If people really knew the thoughts I have, no one would want to be around me anymore…” These are all thoughts individuals diagnosed with OCD have expressed to me in my years of clinical work. Individuals with OCD and related disorders often suffer silently. Common barriers to receiving treatment include difficulty disclosing the nature of symptoms, such as distressing intrusive sexual thoughts, fears of harming self/others, feelings of disgust and or feeling not "just right." Often individuals with OCD are initially misdiagnosed, have never being diagnosed and/or have received treatments not shown in the literature to be effective for OCD. I specialize in providing Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and am passionate about educating people about OCD while creating a space where individuals feel safe disclosing their symptoms. In my private practice, I offer telehealth and in-person sessions. Treatment is personalized to patient's goals and often it is suggested that sessions are done in the community together so I can provide additional support. I am a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) as well as the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) and am certified by the IOCDF’s Adult Behavioral Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) where I received intensive education in the assessment and treatment of OCD in adults. In addition to private practice, I am a clinical supervisor, training therapists in ERP and ACT in partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs. I completed my pre-doctoral internship at M Health Fairview in Saint Paul, MN and Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology at the University of La Verne in La Verne, CA. Lastly, I completed post-doctoral fellowships at Garfield Park Behavioral Hospital in Garfield Park, IL and Rogers Behavioral Health in Los Angeles, CA.
