Dr. Sweitzer has specialized training in the psychological, educational, and developmental assessment of children ages 3 to 19. She has worked in both public school systems and independent schools servicing elementary, middle, and high school students. Dr. Sweitzer conducts comprehensive neurodevelopmental and psychoeducational evaluations for dyslexia and other learning differences, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), mood disorders, and twice-exceptional (2e). Therapeutically, Dr. Sweitzer specializes in working with children and adolescents between the ages of 9 and 18 with identified emotional, behavioral, and/or school difficulties. Her approach to treatment is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, although she integrates other approaches, as needed. In addition, Dr. Sweitzer has training in SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) a groundbreaking, evidence-based program to significantly reduce children’s anxiety by working with parents. Dr. Sweitzer received her undergraduate degree from The University of Florida and her doctoral degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. She is a licensed psychologist in Florida and Pennsylvania as well as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist. Dr. Sweitzer completed her internship at the Milton Hershey School and her postdoctoral fellowship at Special People in the Northeast, where she specialized in the social and emotional development of preschool children, parenting education, and urban childcare consultation. In her spare time, Dr. Sweitzer enjoys spending time with her family and is an avid runner.
