Dr. Stella L. Francis is a Licensed Psychologist and a former Nationally Certified School Psychologist. She is experienced in both clinical and school psychology fields and has worked with individuals, families, and groups in both settings over the course of her career. A diverse clientele has sought assistance from Dr. Francis due to their personal needs and distress. She has been able to help persons with challenges involving fluctuating moods, managing stress, excessive worrying, emotional hurt, and coping with difficult life events, among others. A focus within the various clinical and school psychology graduate training programs in which Dr. Francis participated was the need for psychodiagnostic and neuropsychologically informed process assessments that provide answers rather than a mere array of scores. She is often asked to provide comprehensive assessments, which are provided on a fee for service basis. Other services are also provided within group, family, and individual psychotherapy/counseling formats. Dr. Francis has a Masters from Bowling Green State University in School Psychology, a second Masters in Clinical Psychology from Fielding Graduate University. She also obtained a Doctor of Psychology degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Working with some of the leaders in the field, Dr. Francis concentrated on psychodynamic, insight oriented therapy approaches within the clinical psychology paradigm and cognitive-behavioral therapy within the school psychology programs. In addition to her clinical practice roles Dr. Francis has appeared before a Congressional Subcommittee as an invited guest to provide testimony on school violence. She has also presented at national conferences to her colleagues on topics such as ethics in placement decisions, social skills development, and parent training. She was an invited speaker to police officers and correctional workers on diversity issues, as well as to parents and teachers of children with emotional problems on topics they preselected as important to them. Dr. Francis has also presented testimony as an expert witness in Court proceedings pertaining to ADHD and Intellectual Disabilities, and has worked with mid-career adults in college as they sought to retrain for new and different roles. She also loves working with people and looks forward to making a meaningful contribution in the lives of those who seek her for assistance.
