Let’s be honest, life can be hard! There are so many obstacles in life that can knock us off course. My goal is to help individuals face life’s challenges while envisioning the possibilities of hope for their future. Having hope can encourage a sense of life direction, and helping individuals develop even a glimmer of hope is at the heart of the work that I do. Another aspect of my work is to help individuals explore how their thought processes impact their mood and behaviors. One of my sayings is “you can’t always believe what you think.” This statement may hit a nerve, but my approach in therapy is to challenge unproductive or debilitating thinking patterns. Through this process, clients learn to overcome detrimental thoughts and adopt new ways of thinking, actively transforming their lives for the better. My posture is nonjudgmental, educational, and supportive; I meet clients where they are, and go from there. Over time, clients discover their own strengths and build confidence in their ability to enact the changes needed to improve their quality of life. Outside of my professional work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, my daughter, and my family, being an active member of my church community, exploring new activities such as things I have never done before, visiting new restaurants, exploring healthy eating options, and experiencing the world through traveling.
