My path to specializing in children’s psychological services was not so direct, even though I have a long history of working with children and a passion for supporting children’s development in a variety of contexts prior to my formal education experience. My early career experiences with court-ordered and incarcerated individuals led me to discover that many of the adults and adolescents with whom I interacted had a lot of pain in their lives from a very early age. I shifted my focus to children’s development before leaving graduate school and have enjoyed a number of phenomenal opportunities to work with children since that time. I specialize in working with children and parents up to about 12 years of age across a variety of diagnoses and behavior issues. My two most specialized areas of passion and ability are in treating childhood anxiety disorders (such as panic disorder and phobias) and providing parent support for treatment of childhood behavior issues, though I have significant training in a variety of other disorders as well.
