Eliza Jane (she/her) is a native North Carolinian who is passionate about creating more equity in the world and in counseling/therapy spaces. She believes that everyone deserves care, respect and opportunity to be their authentic selves. Eliza is a licensed clinical mental health counseling associate (LCMHCA) and nationally certified counselor (NCC). As a counselor, Eliza focuses on helping folks move through all kinds of experiences, including trauma or previous abuse, using EMDR and Expressive Arts Therapy. She uses feminist and multicultural theories to guide her work, believing they allow a more culturally humble and systemic understanding of the factors that impact our lives. Typically, Eliza works with teens (16+ only) and adults who struggle with anxiety, stress, depression, self-esteem, trauma or a desire to deepen their understanding of self. Eliza uses a lot of creative interventions (which you can always decline!), mindfulness techniques and breath work to support clients. If you're interested in exploring your body image, self-esteem, perfectionism or family dynamics, Eliza might be a good fit. Eliza also works with couples who want to focus on improving communication, finding common ground and working through the issues that continue to challenge the relationship. As a queer woman, Eliza enjoys working with folks in the queer community, particularly those who are interested in exploring their queer identity or have spiritual or religious trauma. It is an honor to be a witness to your life, and Eliza is grateful you're interested in taking the next step to pursue counseling. A Creative Becoming is about giving space to the changes you endeavor to make for yourself. Often those changes are unseen or unheard, sometimes even by yourself! Eliza looks for ways to shepherd and support you on your path, whatever that looks like for you.
