I began my career in Psychology after discovering my passion for helping people build insight into themselves and the world around them. Since 2010, I have been working in Community Mental Health and Substance Use agencies, providing comprehensive clinical assessments to adults and youth. I was trained by the Center for Child and Family Health to complete Comprehensive Trauma Informed Assessments (CTIA). and by the NC Child Treatment Program to administer measures to assess the impact of trauma on youth and families. In addition to assessments, I provided outpatient therapy and Intensive In Home therapy to youth, adults, and families coping with a variety of mental health and substance use disorders. In my work with individuals and families, I implemented evidence-based practices, such as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, 7 Challenges for Substance Use, Motivational Interviewing, Structural Family Therapy, and Triple P (Positive Parenting Program). I am also fluent in Spanish, which I used as a clinician to increase access to care for Spanish-Speaking individuals.
