Introduction

Elizabeth Swart, PhD, LCSW, is a clinician in private practice. She has more than a decade of experience working with individuals, families, and groups, dealing with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, stress, depression, grief, career issues, family conflict, trauma, and gender-based violence. She has also taught social work education to MSW students at the University of Southern California's Virtual Academic Center since 2013. Dr. Swart is trained in Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and she always employs a strengths-based approach to client issues. She helps clients set goals. create strategies, and renew their resilience to meet and overcome challenges. Dr. Swart is also concerned with cultural issues, such as anxiety and trauma, often arising from experiences of difficulty or stress related to immigration. She has certifications in Global Mental Health from the Harvard Program in Refugee Trauma and is a certified trauma therapist through the Boston-based Trauma Research Foundation. She is also certified in Global Women's Health and Human Rights through Stanford University. Dr. Swart is always happy to provide a free consultation.
