As of January 01, 2024, I am accepting new telehealth clients. I hold a core belief that no one wants to be "bad" or do "bad." Keeping this in mind, I prefer to highlight strengths and focus on how we grow and learn in those challenging moments. I work with adult individuals and couples and I have worked with clients on a range of issues. I feel especially comfortable working with ADHD, neurodivergence, OCD, anxiety, trauma, grief, LGBTQIA identities, polyamory and varied relationships, family conflict, and relationships. As a trans-identified person and a member of the queer community, I especially love working with transgender and other queer identified folks. I have ADHD and also love working with other neurodivergent folks as well. I work well with clients who are ready to learn about their unhelpful patterns or behaviors and take action steps to work towards their goals. My style is direct and action-oriented. I enjoy collaboration and problem-solving. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and I am trauma-informed (TF-CBT). I believe in the power of structure and routine (but with creativity and flexibility). I believe in building connection, support, accountability and community. I write and craft, and I enjoy pulling in my client's creativity to process in symbolic and non-traditional ways. I've been on both sides of the chair in therapy, and I think that speaks to my trust and confidence in the healing power of a therapeutic relationship. As a friend of mine used to say, "We may not wear the same shoes, but we've shopped in the same shoe store." I strive to create an environment where my clients feel seen, heard, and understood.
