Hi, I’m Elma Montenegro MA, LPC and I'm bilingual; Spanish-English. I have a master’s degree in counseling from UTSA with an LPC license. As a Licensed Professional Counselor I offer individual and/or group counseling sessions utilizing play therapy, CBT, EMDR, mindfulness, and other therapy techniques so clients can work on resolving personal/interpersonal issues, enhancing social skills, setting personal/career goals, navigating through school, identifying signs of anxiety and/or depression, copying skills, how to support Third Culture Kids, and more. I work at Narrative Works and Sanford Support System private practices in Frisco. My experience with children under 19 years old is extensive as I have worked with K-12 grade students for many years in public education. Other experiences include volunteering with local and global community assisting many children and their families with goal setting, anxiety and depression coping skills, locating spiritual and emotional support, offering parenting sessions, career counseling, trauma support due to immigration and/or other experiences, multigenerational home issues, and more. I moved from Guatemala to Texas more than 30 years ago and I’m very familiar with immigration experiences, trauma, and limitations individuals and families face in a new country; language, culture, socioeconomic status, emotional support in their language, and other issues. I would love to sit down, listen to you, and work on strategies that will help you build the skills that will enable you to be successful in reaching your goals. It will be a privilege and an honor to walk with you along your life's journey!
