If you are here, you have already taken a bold step toward achieving greater wellness! As we know, getting started is often the hardest part, especially with something like therapy. My name is Emily Benefield (she/her) and working with others is my passion. Humans are resilient creatures - but sometimes when we encounter persistent mental health concerns, life transitions, grief, low self-esteem, relationship conflicts, or any of the many challenges that come with existing in the world today, we find it difficult to access that resilience. I work with individuals and couples through the lens of empowerment, authenticity, trust, and kindness. I cultivate individualized therapy plans using a variety of evidence-based yet eclectic frameworks, dependent on the unique needs each person brings to the space. I aim to meet you where you are and support you through the challenges that have brought you to my office. You may find us laughing, listening to music and using any number of creative strategies and outlets during sessions as appropriate. I am dedicated to creating a partnership in which you feel comfortable and able to "just be." I am here to listen non-judgmentally, to offer tangible skills to use in day-to-day life, and to provide you with a reliable and safe space to feel, think, and explore. We all need allies to help us carry the weight. I hope to be a part of helping you to discover and embody your resilience, boldness, and greater sense of self.
