My mission is to empower individuals to show up for themselves each day and make meaningful connections with the world around them. I believe in play at every age, to meet people where they're at, and that there is no template for life. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) for the state of North Carolina and a graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Medicine with a MA in Counseling and Rehabilitation. Additionally, I am pursuing certification as a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) and offer mental performance counseling and mental skills training in addition to mental health counseling. As a former professional ballet dancer, life-long lover of any and all athletic and artistic pursuits, and through my clinical experience with the University of South Carolina Athletics’ Mental Health and Performance Team, I have developed the skills and a passion for working with pre-professional, collegiate, and professional athletes and performing artists. My approach to mental health counseling consists of integrative and evidence-based interventions. I emphasize collaboration with clients- you will be in the driver’s seat, and I’ll be next to you with the map! Theories I draw upon include existential psychotherapy, third-wave behavioral therapies, relational-cultural, Adlerian, and neuroscience and trauma-informed practices. Counseling is not only about gaining insight and building self-awareness, it also includes supporting my clients to take action towards the life they want to live. As a counselor, I hope to empower my clients to take their life into their hands, which can sometimes mean making difficult decisions, setting boundaries, having courageous conversations, going outside their comfort zone, practicing different ways of acting/reacting and coping, and facing themselves through self-reflection. Let’s work together to achieve your goals and build a stronger relationship with yourself!
