Emily Foxen-Craft, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist in the State of Michigan with expertise and advanced postdoctoral training in pediatric pain psychology. Prior to founding Pediatric Pain and Behavioral Health, Dr. Foxen-Craft was a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Departments of Pediatrics and Anesthesiology at the University of Michigan, where she provided services with children, teens, and young adults struggling with recurrent and chronic painful conditions. In particular, Dr. Foxen-Craft led the pediatric pain psychology treatment program for headache and migraine. She also worked with with colleagues in Sports Medicine to investigate and address the pain and mental health challenges common to student-athletes. She has a B.A. from McGill University, and M.A. and Ph.D. from University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where she focused on pediatric pain interventions. She returned home to Southeast Michigan to complete her internship at Children's Hospital of Michigan at Detroit Medical Center and a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric pain at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital. Pediatric Pain and Behavioral Health is a one-of-a-kind program in the State of Michigan, providing unique expertise in pain and behavioral health for children, teens, and young adults, that is often not accessible outside of a large, complex, and bogged-down hospital system. Treatment is always personalized to your child’s needs while grounded in the most up-to-date scientific evidence. Psychological and behavioral strategies, typically based in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), focus on helping children, teenagers, and young adults learn coping skills to effectively manage their symptoms and achieve their goals. Ages treated: Children and teens ages 2-18, and some young adults 18-22.
