Emily was born and raised in the Golden State of California, spent some years in the rainy Pacific Northwest where she got her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work (BSW) from Portland State University, and ended up in Michigan where she got her Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. Emily prides herself on her compassion, humor, and curiosity which drives her interpersonal practice. Emily worked in the field of Veterinary Medicine for over ten years where she gained a deep understanding and passion for the human-animal bond, inspiring her to pursue a career in Social Work. Emily cares immensely and advocates for the well-being and empowerment of her clients to live the life they want to live. Utilizing aspects from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and other specialties, Emily helps her clients to work through issues like anxiety, depression, and trauma. Emily also assists her clients in understanding the intricacies of their mental health journey.
