Introduction

You know there’s potential for life—your work, relationships, and daily routine—to be better, but nothing you’ve tried so far has really helped. Not as much as you’d hoped, anyway. You’re still having trouble managing time well without sacrificing your eating habits or workout routine. You’re still having pointless fights with your partner (or struggling to find a partner at all). And, above all, you’re still always worrying about one thing or another. Maybe you’re a creative-minded person, and advice you’ve gotten in the past has felt too rigid or structured to apply well to your life. You get the sense that the issues you’re facing now are “figure-outable,” and that maybe you just need some guidance that’s tailored to who you are and what you want out of life. It’s one thing to know what you’d like to change, it’s another to know how to change it. I like to approach therapy in a hands-on and creative way, whether working with an individual or a couple. This could mean anything from creating customized worksheets or diagrams to doing visualization exercises, and beyond. We’ll explore these things together—because I’d never ask you to do something I wouldn’t do myself. Let’s find solutions that stick. When we begin working together, we’ll talk about what’s going on in your life and, if you’ve previously been to therapy, what has and hasn’t worked for you in the past. I pull from many different methods and tailor the tools I suggest to what works best for you. I want our time together to be an open dialogue, and am always open to hearing your feedback about the work we’re doing. The aim is to find an approach you’ll benefit from. I want to help you learn and practice things you can use outside of our sessions that will make you feel more confident, in control, and closer to the people you care about.
