Hi! I am Emily Park and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have been providing therapy to adults for the past six years. I enjoy working with adults, especially military and Veterans, and helping my clients work through various struggles. I have experience working with PTSD, trauma, anxiety, depression, OCD, as well as various life stressors. I have worked in military settings and community agencies, providing both individual and group counseling. I know firsthand the experience of anxiety and depression, and truly believe in the power of asking for support and help from others. How Can I Help You? I know that life can be difficult to navigate, whether it be life transitions and stressors, or unexpected events that leave us feeling stuck. No one is meant to go through these struggles alone. This is where I believe therapy can help. My mission is to partner with you to overcome struggles that may be holding you back from the life you really want. Taking the first step to ask for help can seem scary and overwhelming. That’s why my main priority is to provide a calming, safe, and trusting space for you to feel comfortable to share your story. I have experience using various therapies including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help my clients. I also have experience with Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), an evidence based therapy for PTSD. My goal is to truly understand your experience so that we can collaborate to create a unique plan that empowers you to move toward the life you envision for yourself. My Philosophy on Mental Health: I believe every person has inherent strengths and skills, as well as the capacity to learn new skills, that can help you overcome challenges in life. I also believe that when partnered with a therapist you feel comfortable with, you can begin the process of healing and empowerment to use both your strengths and new skills so that you can gain a greater sense of control in your life. While therapy can be difficult, I also believe that humor and laughter can not only build trust and comfort, it can also be used to help the healing process. More About Me… I recently found a love for camping (as long as it’s not more than 2 nights). I enjoy hiking, snowboarding, and beach days with my community. I love to travel, whether it’s a weekend camping trip or visiting a new country. I also enjoy baking and trying out new recipes.
