PHILOSOPHY I am passionate about providing compassionate care for my clients by honoring your voice, believing you are the expert of your experiences, and always maintaining awareness that I am treating a person and not an illness. I believe in remaining sensitive to others' challenges, supporting your strengths, drawing from your innate creative resources, and offering unconditional empathy. I also strive to provide inclusive and affordable services. As an art therapist and counselor, I utilize the process and product of art-making to support individuals in discovering insight, moving toward growth, and finding balance. Art therapy can offer an alternative means of communication to express difficult emotions or experiences that may feel impossible to put into words. You do not have to identify as an artist to find healing through art therapy. Art making is always optional and no artistic skills or previous experience is needed. APPROACH I provide individual counseling for adults ages 18 and older. I specialize and have a PhD in Art Therapy. My approach to therapy is strengths-based, person-centered, trauma-informed and resiliency-focused with an intersectional lens. I also believe in the importance of recognizing the ways in which the brain and nervous system are impacted by experiences of trauma and have completed training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Clinical Applications of Polyvalgal Theory in Trauma Treatment, and am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). My specialty areas are trauma, experiences of abuse or violence, PTSD, depression, and anxiety. I am also in the process of getting my EMDR certification and am currently considered EMDR informed. LEARN MORE I honor the opportunity to walk alongside you throughout this journey. If you would like to learn more about what therapy might look like or how I can support you, please feel free to contact me via email. Please note that before meeting for a first session, I require a complimentary phone consultation to ensure we are a good fit for each other. I look forward to connecting with you.
