Clients come to me seeking someone who’s highly specialized, empathetic, encouraging, and honest. My clients joke that I’m always ready with a resource - which is true! I bring a lot of psychoeducation into sessions because I believe it’s so empowering to learn about your own trauma responses. It’s the basis for building a sense of compassion for ourselves and healing old wounds. And I love that we can sometimes laugh together in sessions. Therapy doesn’t always need to be so serious. I work with clients to treat underlying causes of stress and anxiety, trauma, sexual dysfunction, and relationship concerns. My clients are here for some deep digging - to gain insight into the why of their behavior, ready to change negative beliefs about themselves, and really heal the root cause of their mental health symptoms and relationship troubles. I love facilitating this process with EMDR therapy, specifically through EMDR Intensives. Together we’ll look at your survival strategies - things that once made sense for you, but now leave you feeling stuck - and uncover your true self. Along the way, you’ll build new practical tools to manage stress, improve communication, be more in tune with your body, and have healthier relationships. It’s a privilege to sit with my clients as they navigate their inner worlds and to bear witness to the incredible healing power of the brain. I take a holistic approach to mental health treatment, which means that I’ll consider the impact of biology, your lifestyle, and psychological factors, and incorporate your strengths into treatment. I actively encourage collaboration with other wellness professionals to address the ways stress shows up and wreaks havoc elsewhere in your body, that are outside my scope of practice. I work to create a sense of safety by offering a nonjudgmental, supportive relationship and a casual, peaceful environment. I believe all people have inherent value as human beings and are worthy of emotional wellbeing and healthy relationships. I work to help you see this in yourself and show up this way in your everyday life. Therapy is a space to feel, process, learn, explore, try, heal, grow, and thrive. As someone who’s done their own work, I look forward to coming alongside you in your healing journey. Outside of the office, I enjoy living a fun-filled life with my husband and two Newfypoo puppies, friends, and family. I love to be outdoors and try to spend as much time as possible hiking, camping, and traveling. I enjoy cooking, gardening, and exploring local eateries.
