I've made it my mission to find you- maybe you're a climber who doesn't trust yourself anymore; a skier who shakes when you see snow; a search and rescue member who leaps to panic at the sound of the phone; or maybe it's not as clear as that- maybe you haven't felt quite like yourself since the incident or loss and you're trying to make sense of it all. Whatever your experience, I've got you. It started around the kitchen table. Skydivers, speed flyers, and BASE jumpers would come over for dinner after a day of play, and they started to talk. Some stories were of difficult childhoods, how high-risk sports saved their lives, and also how high risk sports were killing them and those they loved, creating more trauma for hearts that already felt too much or nothing at all. I listened with an ear tuned to coping and surviving and decided to devote my practice to the adventure community who is often misunderstood by the public and by mental health professionals.
