Trauma can leave you feeling stuck in a relentless survival mode, whether it stems from a distressing event, a painful past, or an ongoing challenge. Moving forward might feel out of reach when the weight of the past keeps holding you back. I understand how daunting this can feel, and I’m here to walk with you through the healing process. In our work together, I draw on therapeutic approaches like CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Progressive Counting, and Havening. These methods help you process and release the pain of trauma at a pace that feels right for you. My focus is on creating a space where you feel safe, heard, and supported. We’ll develop strategies to manage overwhelming feelings and work toward reclaiming your sense of peace and confidence. With over 12 years of experience in trauma-focused care, I’ve been privileged to work in diverse settings, from the Rosebud and Pine Ridge reservations to supporting individuals in homeless communities. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for resilience and the unique challenges people face, which I bring into my practice with every client. Additionally, I’ve offered Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, where the therapeutic presence of horses fosters emotional healing and growth. While this service isn’t available at Foundations Counseling, my work with horses has profoundly influenced my understanding of the mind-body connection and the power of unconditional acceptance. My role is to guide and empower you as you navigate your healing journey. Outside of the therapy room, I recharge by spending time with my grandchildren, being outdoors, and working with horses. These passions ground me and inspire the work I do, reminding me of the importance of finding moments of calm and connection in life’s busy rhythms.
