As a result of her own positive experience in therapy, Everett left a successful career in the corporate world to pursue a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy. As part of her graduate education, she worked at ECU Health in the Inpatient Rehab unit providing therapeutic support and treatment to individuals and their families recovering from strokes, amputations, car accidents and other physical traumas. She also counseled individuals pre and post bariatric surgery, sparking her interest in the role nutrition plays in mental health. Everett has trained in various therapeutic approaches including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Perinatal Mood Disorders and Advanced Perinatal Mental Health Psychotherapy. She is currently working on her Nutritional Psychology certificate, examining how what we eat and gut health directly impact psychological, behavioral, and cognitive processes and functions. Everett is committed to doing her own personal work to ensure she shows up for clients as the best version of herself. She is an active volunteer with Safe Alliance and the Citizens Climate Lobby.
