As a therapist, I strive to create a space that is warm, accepting, and trauma informed. A goal of mine also includes de-stigmatizing mental health therapy, so I understand the courage it takes to reach out for extra support. Whether through individual or couples counseling, we can work together to help you gain insight and flourish within your relationships. I am currently providing virtual sessions. During my undergraduate studies, I learned further about the injustices and emotional pain many communities of color endure. I recognize that therapy can be a challenging resource to utilize due to many reasons, including stigma. I have primarily worked with women of color, including Black, Latinx, South Asian, and Asian American communities through various hospital programs and clinical settings. My unique, yet collective experiences, as a child of immigrant parents and as a South Asian woman of color, provide me with the ability to recognize why family and cultures are so important in the therapeutic work. Therapy is your space to be your true self, to allow yourself to feel vulnerable, honest, and express the more difficult emotions. Therapy is your space to heal without judgment and grow to be the best version of yourself, however you come to define that. I am fascinated by how our family relationships can impact other relationships, our sense of self, and our place in the world. In our therapeutic journey, we will think about how your early childhood experiences have impacted your current interpersonal relationships, and how your identities have been shaped by your cultures and environments. As an attachment-based therapist, I want to help you better understand your past experiences to alleviate present day concerns.
