I am a proud Detroit Michigan native, with a love of listening to others, connecting individuals to their purpose, and mostly known to have a caring heart. Founded in honor of my son RiShawn, RDS ConnectingHearts came to fruition while I was attending graduate school. My son RiShawn, age 27, passed away in a tragic car accident in 2016. Determined to finish what I started, I remained in school, graduating with my Master of Arts in Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary (ATS) in Southfield, Michigan. With the constant support and love from my village I gained strength to push through my pain which helped me to increase my passion. That passion being, to help others identify their own inner-strength and learn how to form healthier connections. My mission is to help deepen the understanding of mental health in all areas by assisting others with recognizing their triggers, develop self-love and to overcome issues which causes barriers in having positive connections and healthy relationships. When I'm not in my professional practice, you can find me counseling elementary school students. Outside of work you can catch me enjoying any body of water, traveling around the world, spending time with my lovely family, cuddling with my couch blanket having movie marathons or simply sipping on some blueberry tea or coffee, all of which is the driving force of my peace. I utilize an integrative therapeutic style based on the individual which includes holistic, Cognitive Behavioral, Client-Centered, and Emotionally Focused Therapy as well as my own natural ability to connect to others by offering individuals, couples and families compassionate and judgement free counseling. I am conveniently located near both Wayne and Oakland counties in Southfield, Michigan. My goal is to assist you through your healing journey. Thank you for deciding that You are STRONG enough to ask for help!
