“Cairn” comes from the Gaelic term of “heap of stones”. Cairns are used to memorialize and to mark trails. Cairns have the power to clarify and help a person navigate. I help others in their journey, to find their path, and begin the art of healing. Using a person centered approach, my clients become the experts in themselves. Incorporating narrative therapy helps my clients develop a new path, and a new story. My practice specializes in teaching creative and effective tools for managing emotions and rewriting the stories of our lives. I incorporate nature, art, movement, mindfulness exercises and other coping skills to gain insight and increase awareness of mind and body connection to empower my clients to reduce feelings of anxiety and feel more at ease, calm and present. I am passionate about empowering people to be confident, motivated and to create a life of purpose. I ensure that the modalities I incorporate best fit my clients needs. I value building a safe and supportive healing environment for my clients and bring an open, accepting, non-judgmental, and authentic presence to our therapeutic relationships. I completed my Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy and Art Therapy at Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, California. I love creating and enjoying art and spending time outdoors. I am an avid traveler and have had the pleasure of visiting almost 50 countries, have lived and worked in several countries and speak Spanish fluently. I have over seven years of clinical experience empowering people to be confident, motivated and creating a life of purpose. I see clients Mondays though Fridays in person or virtual in my beautiful office adjacent to Lake Merritt.
