I graduated with a Masters in Social Work from the University of Kansas in 2014. During school I emphasized my studies on Veteran populations completing 2 internships with the Veteran Affairs: one in Topeka, KS and the other in Washington, D.C. I have worked in adolescent foster homes facilitating group therapy, and in elementary and middle schools offering mental health support to students. I became and Licensed Master Social Worker in 2014, moved to Lubbock, TX and began working in the medical field as a social worker. I enjoyed the medical complexities and learning about their impact on mental health. I became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker through the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners in 2018. I worked several years after-hours as a crisis stabilization worker in hospital emergency rooms. I have additional experience with people experiencing medical complexities, adjustment disorders, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, childhood trauma, PTSD and more. I enjoy working with children, teens and adults of all ages. I strongly believe in continuing education and knowledge. I am currently working towards becoming EMDR certified. I am also attending Liberty University earning a Doctorate of Education (Ed.D) in Community Care and Counseling with a specialization in Traumatology.
