As a therapist, I strive to honor each one of my clients' needs. I do this by first understanding the challenges they are facing, listening to what has contributed to the present moment, then assisting in establishing goals for us to work towards during our time together. Through the therapeutic process, I hope to help you achieve meaningful and helpful changes in your life. I work with adult individuals and couples who have a history of facing trauma, anxiety, depression, racism, relational challenges, grief, illness, and life transitions. We know life can be stressful, hard, and oftentimes confusing. I believe that through exploration and understanding, we are able to learn how to better navigate those hard parts of life in the future, while healing from the past. Much of the work I do focuses on developing self-compassion and empowerment. I will help you appreciate your strengths, and recognize that we are all human beings who fail, yet we are capable of getting up each day to try again. My approach is through a collaborative lens, since you are the expert of your life. I practice using person-centered and trauma-informed techniques, while drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), with a touch of humor. All psychotherapy I administer comes from a social justice lens that is anti-racist, LGBTIA+ and gender affirming, and allied towards those within non-monogamous/poly relationships.
