Introduction

Nobody knows you like you know yourself. Your past decisions weigh on you and stop you from moving forward, to a place of piece and growth. Your past does not determine your future, each day is a new opportunity to start fresh. You may doubt who you are or what you want out of life, but you are the keeper of your story and do have power over your future. Your journey to finding the best life possible begins when you decide to make the change. I consider it an honor to walk down the path of exploration with you. No journey is too big or small, I believe in honoring all of life’s moments with my clients. I believe counseling is a deeply moving and personal experience. One that should be unique for each person. I am honored to walk down the winding path of change with my clients. I offer a safe and nonjudgmental environment for you to examine past “learning opportunities” to assist you in moving on to a new future. I help my clients to manage their anxiety before their anxiety manages them. I work with my clients to discover the message their depression is trying to tell them. I help clients to discover old unhealthy patterns and coping skills and to seamlessly replace them with new healthy skills. I have been trained to use multiple evidence-based practices in my work, including Mindfulness Based Strategies, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Trauma Informed Care. I have worked with hundreds of families, individuals, and couples over the past decade of service. I have served as an Adjunct Professor in the Integrative and Holistic Health Department of Western Michigan University, a guest lecture on the topic of depression and anxiety and have done trainings for counselors to ensure cultural competency in dealing with diverse populations. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, Certified Family Therapist, Approved Clinical Supervisor, and I have completed my development plan to become a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I have a doctorate in Integrative Healthcare Studies-Professional Counseling and Supervision, a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health, and a post-graduate degree in Marriage, Family and Couples Counseling. I offer individual counseling to those older then 12, family counseling, and couples counseling dealing with a wide range of issues including adjustment issues, depression, anxiety, substance use, identity issues, and more. Take the first step in living the life you have dreamed of and call or email me today.
