Seeking help takes courage. I encourage people to share their emotional pain and struggles with a well-trained therapist. If you share your emotional pain with others, you can cope better. I have worked in community outpatient mental health treatment settings throughout my career. I have many success stories. I provide therapies for individuals, couples, and families who are struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, anger, and grief due to unexpected changes in their health, living environment and situation, and relationship. I have a special interest helping family caregivers and people with chronic health conditions. My approach is empowering, client-centered, strength-based, solution-focused and culturally sensitive. I believe that every individual has strength to enhance their lives with encouragement and guidance. I also believe in holistic and collaborative approach. I am familiar in using cognitive-behavior, narrative, and solution-oriented models. I was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. I'm fluent in Korean. I'm familiar in cross-cultural issues. I have been helping many Korean and other Asian immigrants who have mental health issues. I have many years of experience in providing cross-cultural consultation and training to health care providers and professionals.
