Introduction

My name is Dr. Genevieve Weiscovitz. I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in private practice in Durham. I see adults both individuals and couples with a sub-specialty in Perinatal. I work both in-person (W-F) at my office or virtually with video sessions. I am licensed to treat clients in California and North Carolina. With couples, I utilize my specialized training in PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy). This is a well-researched integrative approach where couples improve their connection and quality of their relationship. This model supports partners to learn how to co-regulate, so they turn toward each other when anxiety revs up instead of turning away or lashing out. Couples learn specific, attachment-based strategies to work together toward secure functioning. PACT is a great fit for couples where one or more partners have a history of trauma/abuse, ADHD, or other neuro-differences. This is also recommended for couples that have tried other couples therapy approaches in the past. More info about PACT is here: https://www.thepactinstitute.com/ In my work, I create a safe space for people to get unstuck, reconnect, and build new ways of managing this difficult world. My approach is warm and relaxed. I like to use humor, creativity, and sometimes even music or art! Clients can expect me to be respectful of all human differences. As a white, cis woman I have plenty of blind spots, and I continually work to improve my multi-cultural competency. I am an out-of-network provider, and I accept credit card payment only. Some insurance companies will reimburse you a percentage of the cost of our sessions, and HSA or FSA accounts are accepted as well. I am committed to helping you navigate the out-of-network options that can help make therapy accessible for you.
