Introduction

I received my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. I am a Nationally (Board) Certified Counselor (NCC) meeting the highest standards of professional counseling through the National Board for Certified Counselors. In growing as a professional, I have completed a certification program in complex trauma leading me to the title of a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). I am a Certified EMDR Therapist through EMDRIA (EMDR-C), a Certified Linehan trained Dialectical Behavior Therapist (C-DBT) practicing DBT to fidelity. I hold weekly Skills groups/classes. My other professional training includes Levels I & II in Clinical Hypnosis, and Level I in Deep Brain Reorienting. Other focuses I utilize include grief and loss, self-esteem work, attachment, mindfulness, psychoeducation, polyvagal theory, and physical well-being. I have a passion to help others, and I know that my clients are the experts on themselves. I would only have to privilege of sitting with them as they navigate their life. My clinical experience is focused on a broad definition of trauma. I focus on helping others to gain insight into what might be the underlying cause(s) to their behaviors, emotions, numbness, and/or thoughts. It is possible to heal, and I can hold that belief for you until you believe it too. My own experiences in life have led me to this career field, and I know the pain and suffering of emotional dysregulation. I also parent an autistic son, who has taught me so much about relationships and patterns in my growth as a mother, a clinician, and a human being. I have the capacity to not only be a soft place to land for parents of neurodivergent children, but I also hold space for those children to offer a place of understanding.
