I received a Masters degree in counseling from California State University in 2003. After moving from California to Portland in 2004, I worked with young children in both an outpatient and early childhood education setting for a non-profit organization. My journey took me to several other non-profits working with children and adolescents over the years. I have also worked in a crisis setting providing immediate mental health support to children, adults, college students and employees seeking support through their Employee Assistance Program (EAP). I am trained in Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) and Counseling with Adoptive and Foster Families. I have experience with crisis response and suicide assessment. I use an approach that is non-judgmental, casual and conversational while also providing insightful feedback and challenging clients when needed.
