Dear community partner, Since 1996, the Guadalupe Valley Christian Counseling Center has been a vital partner in the mental health services provided not only in Seguin, but across our county. Our clinicians have striven to stand at the intersection of faith and healing, holding firm to our Christian identity, and seeking to provide the very highest level of counseling care. While this mission of excellence will always remain at the heart of who GVCCC is, our expression of that work must change. Following a time of discernment, financial review, and conversations with our church partners, we, the Board of Directors, have chosen to end GVCCC‘s counseling services. This decision does not come lightly and brings a level of grief to us all. Maintaining consistent care and employment during this transition is a top priority and we are activity working with GREW Services to receive our clients and clinicians without any interruptions. The difficult conversations regarding transitions like this have already begun, and the we ask for your prayers to surround all of those involved. What comes next for the counseling center is in the infancy phases of development. We want to maintain our legacy of care and our voice of advocacy regarding the ongoing mental health needs of our community, but knowing just exactly how to do this is at the heart of our discussions. It is our hope that through a continued process of discernment, community listening, and planning, we will be able to create a new vision for who we wish to be in the future. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your continued love of the counseling center. Thank you for your benevolence, hours of volunteering, and support of all kinds throughout these past 28 years. We are not sure what God has in store for us as this new chapter begins, but we begin this chapter with hope. With deepest gratitude, GVCCC Board of Directors
