Introduction

I have a master's degree in Clinical Counseling from Western Seminary and worked at multiple non-profits before settling down into a private practice. I have an undergraduate degree in Community Health Education from Portland State University, providing a basis for my holistic approach to mental health therapy. Viewing the person as many parts that make up a whole, can help identify the area that requires the most attention. I often utilize mindfulness practices, strength identifiers and value sorters, movement, play, skill building, and self-compassion in sessions. The theories in which I draw from most frequently are Dialectical Behavioral Theory and Cognitive Behavioral Theory. I believe these are the most beneficial due to their emphasis on the connection between our thoughts, emotions, and body.
