Maybe your emotions sweep you off your feet— but not always in a good way. You use substances, food, or other habits to try and escape these feelings, but ultimately the underlying causes go unaddressed. There’s nothing wrong with having big emotions, but what would life look like if you learned how to ride these waves instead of feeling like you’re drowning? Although change can feel impossible, I’m here to tell you it’s not. As your fellow human, I understand that life is full of hardship and uncertainty. As your therapist, it’s my job to help you figure out how you want to go forth in your life, how to deal with these challenges. I believe that the relationship between client and therapist is essential for healing, so it’s important that we both show up authentically for sessions. You can rest assured that I won’t be a “blank slate” when we meet. I feel therapy is a two-way street, where you are free to ask questions, give feedback, and challenge me at times. “Healing doesn’t mean the damage never existed. It means the damage no longer controls our lives.” Take control back in your life and email or call to schedule a consultation with me.
